Building a seamless, automated, and integrated ecosystem to serve as a platform for SME Working Capital financing under a Revenue Based Finance (RBF) model. About the Job
This is an exciting opportunity to join Flow48, a fast-growing fintech company, and lead our business development efforts. As the Head of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth strategy, building long-term client relationships, and expanding Flow48's footprint in the SME financing market. You will work closely with our leadership team in a collaborative, innovative environment to drive revenue and position Flow48 as the go-to financing partner for SMEs.
Role Specification
The Head of Business Development is responsible for leading and delivering the growth of Flow48 within the SME and fintech sectors. This hands-on role requires expertise in sales, lead generation, client relationship management, and strategic market positioning. You will drive new business acquisition, enhance brand reputation, and foster partnerships with SMEs, financial intermediaries, and industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new business, onboarding SMEs and strategic partners to utilise Flow48's invoice financing solutions.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with Flow48's growth objectives and mission to empower SMEs.
- Manage the full sales process, from lead generation to deal closure, continuously optimising efficiency and performance.
- Build and maintain strong, consultative relationships with SME clients, ensuring Flow48 is their trusted partner for financial solutions.
- Lead pitches, negotiations, and contract processes to secure new clients and partnerships.
- Collaborate with Flow48's product and operations teams to align business development efforts with financing capabilities and client needs.
- Negotiate terms and agreements with clients, ensuring commercial value and alignment with Flow48's offerings.
- Represent Flow48 at industry events, networking forums, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
- Create and contribute to marketing content (e.g., social media, case studies, and thought leadership) to support brand reputation and client acquisition.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in the SME and fintech sectors to inform sales strategies.
- Collaborate with strategic partners (e.g., accounting platforms, business advisors, or industry associations) to cross-sell Flow48's solutions.
- Deliver regular reports and forecasts on pipeline activity, sales performance, and market intelligence to the leadership team.
- Mentor and develop junior business development team members to achieve targets and foster professional growth.
- Work toward agreed business development KPIs and revenue targets, driving measurable results.
Person Specification
- Proven track record in senior business development roles within the fintech, financial services, or SME sectors.
- Established network of contacts within the SME ecosystem, including business owners, financial advisors, or industry stakeholders.
- Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage senior decision-makers.
- Ability to develop and execute long-term growth strategies in a competitive market.
- Commercially astute with a strong understanding of sales cycles, financial solutions, and client acquisition processes.
- Strong knowledge of the SME sector and/or related industries (e.g., fintech, accounting, or business advisory services).
- Demonstrable success in lead generation, deal negotiation, and closing high-value contracts.
- Tenacious, resilient, and highly motivated, with a passion for exceeding sales and revenue targets.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills to inspire teams and build client trust.
- Familiarity with invoice financing, cash flow solutions, or alternative lending is a plus.
