  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting and reporting for foreign exposures and hedge accounting in line with IFRS 9.

  • Execute month-end IFRS 9 processes, including reporting in accordance with the financial calendar.

  • Analyse financial transactions and ensure correct accounting treatment of all forex-related activities.

  • Prepare interim and annual statutory packs, including separate and consolidated financial statements.

  • Perform monthly variance analysis, identify anomalies, and provide insights with clear explanations.

2. Operational Forex Management

  • Monitor daily and monthly processes related to forex payments and receipts.

  • Manage applications to the South African Reserve Bank.

  • Support stakeholders with forex-related queries and requests.

  • Identify opportunities to optimise cash flows and recommend process improvements.

3. Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure adherence to applicable financial policies and IFRS 9 standards.

  • Maintain compliance with SOX controls and internal audit requirements.

  • Facilitate resolution of cross-departmental issues related to forex transactions.

  • Collaborate with global process teams and shared services to align best practices.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong working relationships with Finance Operations, Treasury, Business Units, and external vendors.

  • Advise stakeholders on forex transactions, accounting implications, reporting requirements, and process enhancements.

  • Engage effectively with management, auditors, and external partners.

  • Provide training and guidance to team members on relevant processes and controls.

Desired Experience & Qualification Qualifications

  • BCom in Accounting (essential)

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in financial reporting or forex accounting

  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS 9

Technical Skills

  • Solid understanding of accounting standards and statutory reporting

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with SAP ERP and HFM

  • Knowledge of SOX control environments
