We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
Investment Analyst
to join our investment team. This role is critical in conducting in-depth research and analysis to support long-term investment decisions that protect and grow client portfolios. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in fundamental equity analysis, financial modelling, and valuation, and thrive in a high-accountability environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed due diligence and comprehensive fundamental analysis of listed and unlisted companies.
  • Take full ownership of assigned sectors and companies, including regular updates and execution of approved investment ideas.
  • Develop forward-looking investment forecasts and valuations using robust financial models and ratio analysis.
  • Prepare high-quality investment reports and recommendations for review by the Investment Committee.
  • Attend and contribute to daily and quarterly investment meetings, offering insights from market research, management interactions, and financial results.
  • Analyze macroeconomic, sectoral, and geopolitical developments and their impact on investments.
  • Evaluate corporate actions and proxy votes in line with ESG policies and governance frameworks.
  • Maintain and update financial models, systems, and documentation to support the investment process.
  • Generate original investment ideas supported by rigorous analysis and due diligence.
  • Collaborate closely with senior analysts and company management to gain insights and enhance research quality.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Finance/Investment or Actuarial Science
  • CA(SA) or Masters in Investment Finance preferred
  • A CFA qualification will be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in equity valuation, financial statement analysis, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in financial tools such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Inet, and Excel modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
  • High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to process and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
