We are seeking a Sales & Marketing Manager to join our team and champion Altra's growth within the specialty running and outdoor retail environment across South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Account Management

  • Manage and grow existing retail partners, driving sell-in and sell-through performance.
  • Identify and secure new specialty running and outdoor retail accounts aligned with Altra's brand positioning.
  • Build strong partnerships through regular visits, training, and retail activation support.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and category performance.

Marketing & Brand Activation

  • Plan and execute marketing initiatives that drive awareness, and community connection.
  • Manage account marketing support — including in-store displays, events, and product launches.
  • Activate sports marketing programs, including athlete and ambassador partnerships.
  • Coordinate community engagement through local run clubs, demo runs, and race events.
  • Work closely with the regional brand team to align local execution with global strategy.

Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years' experience in sporting goods, running, or outdoor industries is essential.
  • Proven track record in sales / account management, with brand marketing skills being advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of the performance running market and specialty retail environment.
  • Excellent relationship-building and presentation skills.
  • Passion for running and an authentic connection to the running community.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regionally.
