Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting directly to the Project Manager and indirectly to the Engineering Manager, the Execution Engineer will be responsible for managing the implementation of infrastructure and procurement of the Underground Expansion Project. In addition, the incumbent will take legal responsibility for men and machinery in the section and manage this area to obtain optimum machine, underground equipment performance, and engineering availability as well as achieve project deliverables.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
 Legal appointee for the Project Section
 Manage all site engineering and construction resources (Mine and Contractor) associated with the project
 Provide technical support for the implementation work
 Implement project controls
 Develop and maintain the core capability of the implementation team
 Manage stakeholder roles and expectations
 Represent the project in mine management forums
 Scope drafting and management functions
 Incorporation of standards and specifications – as required
 Manage scope changes, deviations and decisions for capital project votes
 Integration of work in terms of utilization of mine infrastructure and facilities

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
 B Degree or National Higher Diploma in Engineering
 Government Certificate of Competency (Mines and Works)
 A Certificate/Diploma in Project Management would be an advantage
 Experience in large mining expansion / development projects
 Experience in resource development projects
 Operational experience in an underground mine
 Operational experience in a leadership role
 Valid Code 08 driver's license
 Sound computer skills

 Well-developed managerial and technical acumen – including: maintenance, trackless fleet, project, design and construction management; change management; coaching; delegation; development of subordinates; budget preparation and management; production management and process control
 Sound analytical and problem solving ability
 Good written and verbal communication skills
 Decision making ability in fast changing environment
