Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position for a Floating Technician, located in Durban, South Africa. The Floating Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems. Daily tasks include diagnosing technical issues, repairing electrical and fiber systems, supporting the team with physical installations, and providing excellent client service during and after installations.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic systems, including cable splicing and testing
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for resolving technical issues
- Experience with electrical systems and hardware setups
- Ability to follow technical schematics and work with tools and equipment for installations
- Good verbal communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Physical ability to perform duties requiring manual labor, including climbing and lifting equipment
- Prior experience in a similar technician role is an advantage
