Job description:

The Adviser is responsible to build a portfolio of clients in short-term personal and commercial insurance products and services to the right clients. It requires commitment to becoming a Financial Adviser with the support and guidance of existing established Advisers in the office. Candidates are required to have leads or their own network of people they can engage with to build business. This will be a commission-based role.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with Underwriting staff to complete underwriting tasks and queries
  • Liaising with claims clerks to lodge client claims and queries
  • Liaising with underwriting staff to complete new applications and quotations
  • Prepare new business
  • Issuing new policies, renewals, and endorsements
  • Negotiating renewal terms and preparing the renewal documentation
  • Recordkeeping (electronic)
  • Provide regular feedback to relevant parties (client/stakeholders)
  • Obtaining the correct information from clients, recording details and information accurately on the relevant systems
  • Provide administrative support
  • Able to navigate and assist clients on CRM systems

Minimum requirements:

  • Matric Certificate
  • BCom Degree in Business Management or BCom Degree in Finance
  • RE 5 Certificate (Advantageous)
  • 0 – 2 financial services experience, specifically within short-term insurance
  • Own vehicle and drivers licence to visit clients

Skillset Required:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Highly client-focused with good interpersonal skills
  • Resilient with a good level of stress tolerance
  • Problem solving and analysis
  • Planning and organising
  • Strong sales and marketing experience
  • Commitment to the long term goal of growing their own portfolio and client base
