Summary:

This role, will be responsible for the overall development of new opportunities

The successful candidate will evaluate best practices in BD, be responsible for personal targets and KPIs, and will be involved in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting. The ideal candidate will be used to coordinate energy project bids for tender processes and RFPs as required, utilising their extensive experience. The key goal will include selecting and analysing business opportunities all the while bringing unsurpassable value to the company using your depth of knowledge in the relative industry.

The candidate must prove track record in the business development space, ideally proven record in the development face of any power generation project from inception to hand over to the client.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop new and maintain existing client relationships
  • Selection and analysis of business opportunities in the Africa Region.
  • Coordination of bids for RFPs and tender processes of all potential projects.
  • Development of internal reports detailing the departmental targets, pipeline and progress.
  • Laying out policies, procedures and templates for the department.
  • Develop new and maintain existing customer relationships
  • Seek new customers in company target markets through research, direct marketing and networking with potential customers
  • Generate project/business opportunities and RFP's through customer contact to meet company's business plans and growth strategies
  • Collaborate with company management to prepare and implement the company's Business Development Plans.
  • Management and supervision of subordinates

Job Requirements

  1. At least 3 - 5 years experience in the Power Generation, transmission lines, or water industry
  2. At least 2 - 3 years experience in a renewable energy project development environment.
  3. Bachelor's degree in Engineering qualification preferable (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Industrial )
  4. Valid Driver's Licence
