We are looking for a newly qualified SAIPA Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who has recently completed their SAIPA articles, is passionate about cloud accounting, and is eager to take on a client-facing role with real responsibility and mentorship from experienced professionals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, VAT reconciliations, and trial balances
  • Ensure timely submission of VAT201, EMP201, and EMP501 returns
  • Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS for SMEs
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and perform reconciliations (bank, debtors, creditors)
  • Support year-end processes, working closely with clients
  • Prepare and file individual and company income tax returns (ITR14, ITR12)
  • Assist with provisional tax calculations and submissions
  • Support tax planning and advisory processes under supervision of senior staff
  • Engage with SARS on verifications, objections, and compliance matters
  • Participate in client meetings, and presenting management reports
  • Contribute to budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and strategic planning for clients
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax, accounting, and compliance regulations
  • Provide on the job training and guidance to juniors
  • Use cloud-based tools such as Xero, Draftworx, and SimplePay to deliver efficient client service

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
  • Completed SAIPA articles at a recognised training office
  • Eligible (or recently registered) as a SAIPA Professional Accountant (SA)
  • Experience using cloud accounting software (Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks Online) preferred
  • Working knowledge of SARS eFiling, CIPC processes, and Microsoft Office
