Job Description
The Solutions Consultant plays a pivotal role in driving the success of Sage Intacct by translating complex business challenges into clear, value-driven solutions. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will showcase the power of Sage Intacct's cloud-native capabilities, inspire confidence in its architecture, and eliminate technical barriers throughout the sales cycle. You will collaborate closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to understand customer needs, design impactful solutions, and deliver compelling demonstrations that highlight our competitive advantage.
This role is ideal for a technically skilled, customer-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys helping customers envision and realise meaningful business outcomes through technology.
Location - 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Account Executives to identify customer pain points and position Sage solutions that align with strategic business objectives.
Lead tailored product demonstrations, technical presentations, and Proof-of-Concept (POC) engagements that clearly illustrate product value.
Analyse customer business processes and map them effectively to Sage Intacct's capabilities.
Prepare and respond to RFPs, RFIs, SOWs and other technical documentation requests.
Act as the bridge between sales and implementation teams to ensure seamless handover into the post-sales project cycle.
Stay informed on product enhancements, competitor offerings, and evolving industry trends to strengthen sales positioning.
Enhance presales readiness by developing demo environments, sales playbooks, and customer use cases.
Provide insights to product and development teams based on real-world customer engagements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Clearly articulate the Sage Intacct value proposition, showcasing the benefits to business users, technical stakeholders, and C-level executives.
Understand customer challenges and position Sage Intacct as the optimal solution to meet their needs.
Deliver engaging, high-impact demonstrations that highlight product strengths and differentiators.
Support Corporate and Channel Sales Representatives by contributing to high-quality sales proposals and solution materials.
Achieve quarterly and annual quotas through effective collaboration with the wider sales organisation.
Provide feedback and insights to internal teams on product enhancements, customer expectations, and market needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, BCom, or related software/accounting fields.
Strong understanding of SaaS, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and related business technologies.
Ability to travel for onsite customer and partner engagements.
Working knowledge of Sage Accounting and Payroll solutions.
Must-Have Experience
4+ years in presales engineering, solutions consulting, implementation consulting, or support for accounting/financial software applications.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes.
Demonstrated success in influencing deal size and accelerating sales cycles.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota.
Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with internet application software, APIs, XML, and web services.
