As an Azure Data Architect you will play a key role in our Data & Development Services capability, working closely with customers and our engineers to design solutions that deliver real value and insight to our clients. Leveraging your architectural skills and your knowledge of Azure services, you will design, refine, and tailor our solutions to the data challenges our customers face, encompassing ETL, Reporting, and Data Migration use-cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning our approaches to different types of data engagement (Data Warehousing, Data Migration, Data Pipeline Modernisation)
  • Capturing best practice and patterns for standard data engineering workloads (e.g. ETL) to be used by engineers across our deliveries.
  • Designing modular utilities (e.g. reconciliation) that can be re-used across all Data & BI deliveries.
  • Producing High-Level and Low-Level designs for custom built client solutions.
  • Using in-depth knowledge of the Azure stack to support pre-sales activity.
  • Engage with clients to understand their current challenges and map these to business objectives, while commercially teaching clients how they can create value using solutions we offer.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients during the evaluation and decision-making process.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, best practice, and new features within Azure and the wider platform engineering discipline to keep Zenzero's offering up-to-date.

We do not expect you to be an expert in all areas and we understand that experiences vary based on the background and years of experience

Below we list some of the skills we are looking for.

  • Be inquisitive about how technology can be used to solve business problems and better understand the world around us
  • Expertise in ETL and data modelling best-practice
  • Deep experience in at least one of the key Azure data technologies (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Server, Azure Databricks, Cosmos DB)
  • Skilled at designing novel solutions to difficult data problems
  • Experience across different types of data project and support engagements (e.g. Data Migration, Data Warehousing/Reporting, Operational Data Processing)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to develop good working relationships with internal and customer stakeholders
  • Comfortable with a degree of ambiguity in customer requirements and the ability to make decisions based on limited information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical colleagues
