Mine in Hotazel NC is looking for a Mine Manager on a 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACTThe Mine Manager is responsible for overseeing mining operations andensuring that projects are executed properly from start to finish. Thispivotal role demands a blend of technical expertise, managerial skills, andindustry knowledge to ensure that mining activities meet production goalswhile maintaining high standards of safety and environmentalresponsibility. To lead the mining team in the cost-effective optimisationand extraction of the ore body and to ensure compliance to the Mine Healthand Safety Act, Minerals Act and its Regulations as a 3.1(a) appointee or2.6.1. appointee.Responsibility:Plan production activities in terms of output quality and quantity,cost, time available and labour requirements• Provide directional support for managing mining and plantoperational scope.• Conduct pit inspections to enhance ore body knowledge andoptimise resource utilisation.• Ensure effective communication of progress against theproduction plan.• Draft and implement policies and procedures in compliance withMHSA and other legislative requirements.• Maintain adherence to mining, safety, and organisationalstandards.• Foster and manage stakeholder relationships; proven ability tonetwork effectively.• Collaborate closely with 2.1 appointee and cross-functionalteams to achieve production targets, enforce operationaldiscipline, control operational costs, drive efficiencyimprovements and uphold high safety standards.• Determine, implement and monitor production strategies, policiesand plans• Monitor production output and costs, and adjust processes andresources to minimise costs• Direct production staff activities and monitor their performance• Take all reasonable measures to ensure that the provisions ofthe Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act and its Regulations(as may be amended from time to time) are implemented andadhered to at the Mine• Maintain an effective risk identification and management system• Ensure the effective maintenance and hazard identification andmedical monitoring records• Management and coordination of the total allocated ProductionArea• Manage the day-to-day operation of the mine• Ensure that the work performed is in accordance with theprescribed training• Ensure that the person performing the work has the requiredauthority• Manage the Tactical Plan (< 1 year)• Manage the Strategic Plan (2-5 years)• Capital project budgeting and coordination, including contractformulation• Compile monthly, quarterly and annual mining reports for theoperation.>   Minimum Requirements:Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering.• Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency essential.• Mine Overseer's Certificate advantageous.• Minimum of 15 years' operational mining experience in open pitenvironments.• 5+ years' experience holding a 3.1 legal appointment or MHSA2.6.1 section manager• Proven experience managing the life of mine plan.• Strong background in continuous improvement, operationalexcellence, production strategy implementation and monitoring.• Proven experience in managing outsourced contractsKnowledge / Competencies /Abilities:Skilled in pit inspections, ore body/resource knowledge, andclear progress reporting.• Policy and procedure drafting for MHSA compliance and safetystandards.• Strong understanding of mining operations and processes• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills• Proficiency in mining-related computer software• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the mining industry• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Computer literate with an understanding of mine planning andscheduling packages• Critical Thinking• Business Acumen• Building networks• Ability to influence
