Role Overview

Design, development, and security of AI-driven automation workflows that include on-premises integration solutions (such as Sage financial and inventory middleware, etc.). Leveraging AI coding, SQL, and API expertise to build scalable, secure applications that run in the cloud, hybrid or local infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain on-prem middleware components that securely access financial, customer, and inventory datasets from Sage 200 running on common Linux or Windows servers.
• Design and implement REST/GraphQL APIs to seamlessly integrate on-prem data with 's cloud platform, enabling dynamic field mapping and scheduled incremental syncing.
• Develop AI-assisted code automation workflows using tools such as Vibe Code, Lovable, Cursor, and ChatGPT to accelerate development cycles and maintain high-quality, scalable code.
• Write efficient SQL queries and manage data-extraction scheduling for incremental data sync from on-prem Sage databases, ensuring data integrity and low latency.
• Architect and deploy middleware hosted in hybrid environments, combining local server infrastructure stability with cloud API integration.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product teams to build user-friendly React frontends using 's Vibe UI toolkit, ensuring consistency in user experience.
• Ensure security best practices across AI and server-hosted codebases, including encrypted data transmission, authentication, and compliance with privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR).
• Maintain robust logging, error reporting, and user activity dashboards within the integration app to support proactive monitoring and customer support.
• Continuously research and implement emerging AI technologies alongside legacy enterprise software best practices to push automation and integration frontiers.

What do you bring

• Strong expertise in SQL, preferably with practical knowledge of Sage 200's database structure and Windows/Linux-based on-prem server environments.
• Proven experience with building and securing RESTful or GraphQL APIs for SaaS and hybrid on-prem/cloud applications.
• Advanced coding skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar, with hands-on experience in AI-assisted coding platforms (e.g., Vibe, Lovable, Cursor).
• Comfortable working with on-prem middleware deployments using Linux/Windows ecosystems that host ERP/accounting software like Sage.
• Deep understanding of asynchronous data syncing, incremental change detection, and database query optimisation for middleware solutions.
• Knowledge of AI workflows, conversational AI integrations, and the orchestration of local/offline AI infrastructure is highly advantageous.
• Strong security mindset concerning data privacy, encryption, authentication, and compliance within hybrid cloud-local deployment models.

Bonus Points

• Certifications in cybersecurity, penetration testing, or cloud/hybrid infrastructure security.
• Experience with vector databases, local LLM orchestration (MCP servers), and privacy-first AI tools.
• Remote collaboration experience using Slack, Gather, , and other productivity suites.
