Job Purpose:

Perform installations, maintenance and troubleshooting of alarm systems and CCTV systems. Ensuring all installations, maintenance and repairs are completed to the OEM's specification as well as the company's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform, or assist with, installations, wiring and configuration of various systems
  • Support in troubleshooting and repairing of faults and connectivity
  • Work with other technicians to ensure all installations meet industry standards
  • Assist with network setup, including IP addressing and basic router/switch configurations
  • Maintain accurate installation records and complete job cards and reports all the time
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and used correctly
  • Support onsite customer support and training
  • Comply with health and safety regulation as well as security protocols

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of Matric/Grade 12 Certification required
  • Technical/electrical qualification advantage
  • PSIRA advantage
  • SAIDSA certifications advantage
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Basic knowledge of networking
  • Valid driver's license

Skills and competencies:

  • Basic understanding of low voltage systems
  • Familiar with CCTV and ALARM brands e.g. Dahua, Hikvision, IDS, paradox, etc
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Great communication and teamwork
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights

Working conditions:

  • Field based role, traveling to client
  • May require after-hours work and standby
  • Exposure to outdoor environments and high voltage equipment
