Ground Culture is a company that aims to integrate cultures in South Africa. It's brand has been increasing in popularity quickly over the last few years. Ground Culture Cafe is the largest comedy club in the country, having hosted comedians such as Barry Hilton, Rob van Vuuren, Riaad Moosa, Nik Rabinowitz, Alfred Adriaan, Nina Hastie, Loyisa Gola and many many more. Ground Culture compromises of a Comedy Club in Observatory and operates 3 satellite stores (fixed Food Trucks) in Claremont, Sea Point and Table View. Our goal is to have 5 food trucks by the end of the year, and 20 by the end of next year.

Ground Culture has 4 Food Trucks and a Tuk Tuk (and will probably have 5 food trucks by the time you're hired). We have 4 locations currently, 1 flagship cafe (which is SA's biggest comedy club) and 3 satellite stores (food trucks that lease properties and run Uber Eats). We aim to open as many as

You would be focused on improving, nurturing, fine tuning and growing the sales of all existing stores, so that I can focus fully on marketing and the opening of new stores. You would be required to bring structure, control and improved profitability to each individual store; tracking stock accurately, building P&L sheets for each store and putting in place SOP's to improve consistency and quality.

Skills Required:

  • Lots of experience in developing and implementing SOPs
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of structuring KPIs for staff
  • Strong restaurant manager experience
  • Understanding of how to develop an operational approach to rolling out new stores
  • An understanding of how to implement strategies to ensure efficient and effective operations at multiple locations
  • Understanding of cost controls and improving profitability
  • Experience in hiring and structuring contracts for employee
  • Success at managing operation at a growing company
  • Good knowledge with using various AI platforms
