An award‑winning UK chartered accountancy and tax advisory firm is seeking an ambitious Management Accountant to join their team.

As a Management Accountant , you'll drive the full accounting cycle by processing invoices, performing reconciliations, and preparing management accounts and VAT returns with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring deadlines are consistently met. You will also lead and mentor junior staff, coordinate payment runs, and liaise with clients to resolve queries, while managing workload and resource planning to maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Process and post invoices using Xero, MS Dynamics, or NetSuite, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of control accounts, preparing working papers to support management accounts.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts and VAT returns using various accounting software, ready for manager review.
  • Organize and prepare payment runs for senior or manager approval.
  • Review and guide junior staff, providing on-the-job training to maintain high standards of accuracy.
  • Liaise with clients to request information or resolve queries, ensuring smooth communication and timely responses.
  • Complete assigned tasks within the allocated time budget, monitoring efficiency and deadlines.
  • Manage personal bookings in Dayshape, discussing any additional requirements with seniors or mentors as needed.

Requirements :

  • Qualified Professional Accountant or In-Progress CIMA
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of post-article experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Xero is essential, with the ability to manage accounting processes accurately and efficiently.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) for effective reporting, analysis, and documentation.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage confidently with clients and team members.
  • Shows a strong eye for detail and excellent organisational abilities to ensure accuracy and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
