Purpose:

The Junior Accountant will need the ability to communicate with all the stakeholders in the company - from junior to executive level.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of management reports monthly
  • Preparing Invoices and submitting to customers timeously for payment as well as following up on payments
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Assist and manage liaisons for annual audits
  • Balance sheet recons
  • Treasury management - daily, weekly and monthly cash flow planning
  • Maintain transactions from operational system to finance system
  • Mitigate any corrections after deadlines
  • Forecasting/ budgeting preparation of schedules
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Matric (NQF 4)
  • Accounting articles with SAIPA/ SAICA would be an advantage
  • Relevant undergraduate qualification would be an advantage
  • Certificate in Bookkeeping/ Accounting is essential
  • Bookkeeping up to trial balance
  • Experience with both local & foreign currencies & cash books (USD & ZMW)
  • Verbal/ written communication skills
  • Detail orientated & organised
  • Adept in prioritising & multitasking with tight deadlines
  • Code B drivers & own transport (an inherent requirement of the role)
