Responsibilities:

  • Develop and champion innovative financial strategies that align with the bank's overarching goals and objectives, driving sustainable business growth.
  • Conduct sophisticated financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to inform strategic decision-making and identify key growth opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and assess potential financial risks and opportunities, developing and implementing effective mitigation and capitalization strategies.
  • Oversee and optimize all aspects of the bank's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial controls, and treasury management.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting, adhering strictly to applicable regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Lead the strategic capital structure, liquidity, and cash flow management to enhance financial stability and optimize performance.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk management frameworks to effectively identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Champion a culture of financial excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team, fostering professional development and high performance.
  • Provide expert financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making at the highest levels of the organization.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, executive team, shareholders, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements:

  • Designation as a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) - CA(SA) or equivalent from SAICA.
  • Up to 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with a significant portion at an executive level.
  • Solid and extensive Business Banking experience
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing financial strategies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and regulatory compliance within the financial sector.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience presenting to senior management and boards.
  • Ability to make strategic, high-impact financial decisions.
  • Familiarity with data-driven decision-making and commercializing data insights.
  • Experience in leading significant change initiatives within a financial organization.
