Our client in the Manufacturing Industry is seeking to employ a qualified Refractory Mason. Please note that this is a fixed-term contract.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain refractory linings in furnaces, kilns, ladles, and other high-temperature equipment.
  • Mix, cut, and shape refractory materials such as firebricks, castable, and insulation materials.
  • Read and interpret refractory drawings and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
  • Apply refractory materials using correct bonding agents and installation techniques.
  • Inspect and remove worn or damaged refractory linings.
  • Perform patching, gunning, and casting work as required.
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, and lifting equipment safely.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and comply with all safety standards on site.
Minimum Requirements
  • National Senior Certificate (Matric).
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Refractory Mason in a Metal, Foundry, or Engineering environment.
  • Red Seal as a Refractory Mason or Bricklayer — essential
  • 25 tons Overhead Crane Licence
  • Forklift Licence
  • Proven experience with furnace relining, bricklaying, and castable installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Sasol or heavy industrial site experience will be an advantage.
  • Must be a local candidate.
