Principal Plans Examiner

Requirements

  • A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification in any Built Environment

Discipline e.g. Architecture/ Civil Engineering/Quantity

Surveying/Building Management/Building Science.

  • 5 - 8 years' relevant experience
  • Knowledge and implementation of the NBR and SANS Code

regulations and requirements.

  • A valid Code B drivers' licence
  • Computer Literacy – SAP/DAMS or similar /MS Office Suite

Key Performance Areas

  • Examination and processing of building plan applications including

more complex/demanding applications.

  • Provide all required advice and information to relevant role players

in the building plan submission and decision-making chain.

  • Process the assessment of building plans, minor work applications,

and permits in accordance with the applicable legislation.

  • Engagement and communication with internal and external

departments and stakeholders.

  • Interpret constantly changing industry technology, best practices,

construction materials, standards and regulations
