Purpose of the Role:

The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to support decision-making and business improvement initiatives. The incumbent will apply analytical and statistical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and insights that enhance organizational efficiency and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct
    data analysis
    using analytical and statistical techniques to interpret and identify trends and patterns.
  • Perform
    descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
    to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collect data from
    primary and secondary sources
    , ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform
    data cleaning
    by identifying and correcting discrepancies in datasets.
  • Develop
    data visualizations and reports
    to communicate findings effectively to management and stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain
    large databases
    , ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with engineers and developers to enhance
    data governance frameworks
    and data management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and governance policies.
  • Utilize
    SAP
    and
    BAS
    systems for data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree (NQF 7)
    in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistical Analysis, or Forensic Investigation.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of
    five (5) years' experience
    in
    Data Analytics
    .
  • Demonstrated experience in:
  • Data analysis, data collection, cleaning, visualization, and governance.
  • Managing large datasets and developing automated reporting tools.
  • Minimum of
    two (2) years' experience
    and working knowledge of
    SAP
    and
    BAS
    systems.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R, Power BI, or Tableau).
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies in data.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
