Job Description

The Business Intelligence Team Lead is essential in converting data into actionable insights that enhance business value. This role involves utilizing data analysis, reporting, and implementing analytical solutions to support decision-making throughout the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with team members to ensure effective workload management.
  • Assist the team in optimizing outputs through efficient SQL queries.
  • Work with the team to identify and prioritize business needs based on value.
  • Guide the team in achieving their Key Performance Areas (KPAs) and departmental goals.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and areas for BI team engagement.
  • Manage daily team administration, including holidays and sick leave.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department to enhance data efficiency, understanding, and reporting across the business.
  • Lead larger team projects involving both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the day-to-day reporting and insights portfolio.
  • Prepare reports and presentations, extracting meaningful business insights.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ideally, at least one year of leadership experience in team management.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both team members and broader stakeholders.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with SQL Server, Transact-SQL, and Advanced Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate substantial amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in building report models using visualization tools (Power BI is a plus).
  • Proficient in applied statistics, including distributions and statistical testing.
