Job Description:

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to join our client's dynamic team in Cape Town. As the right-hand to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial landscape of a forward-thinking organization. You will be instrumental in overseeing daily financial operations, driving strategic initiatives, ensuring the utmost integrity of financial information, and providing expert guidance to the finance department. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's overarching goals and long-term vision.
• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all financial statements and reports.
• Establish and rigorously monitor internal controls to effectively mitigate financial risks.
• Maintain strict compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, tax requirements).
• Oversee the daily operations of the finance department, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, treasury, audit coordination, and procurement policy implementation.
• Spearhead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
• Champion talent development, performance management, and succession planning within the finance function.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring efficient and effective communication and support.
• Drive functional improvements through the strategic application of technology and robust systems management.

Requirements:

Must-Haves:

• Master's degree (e.g., MBA or MFin).
• Professional Certification (CA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA) is a minimum requirement.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.
• At least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, planning, and reporting.
• Proven ability to inspire, lead, and develop teams to achieve high performance.
• Proficiency in aligning financial management with organizational goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities for effective problem-solving.
• Unwavering commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality.
