This is a full-time role based in Stellenbosch (3 days per week in-office).

We are looking for an intermediate-senior
Java Software Engineer
that is keen to become part of the SAM team, whom wishes to grow, contribute and excel in all aspects of our UX front end development effort. The role demands involvement in the entire software development life cycle, building worldclass UX based on modern web application technologies.

The successful candidate will be able to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with established standards and technical design. We expect a strong passion for robust and reliable software that meets the user's needs and performance requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute full life cycle software development
  • Translate requirements into software architecture design
  • Write well designed, testable, documented, efficient code
  • Contribute to planning and scheduling of build increments
  • Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
  • Document and maintain software functionality
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a Java role
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing production-level web applications based on

object-oriented software languages and frameworks e.g. Java, Javascript, Typescript, Spring

Boot & VueJS.

  • Proficient with Linux based systems and shell scripting
  • Experience with source control procedures and systems, preferably Git
  • Strong analytical, design and programming skills
