Job description:
We are seeking a talented and motivated JR Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As the Jr. Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, maintaining food quality, and leading the team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in menu development, food preparation, and presentation.
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety compliance.
- Manage inventory, stock levels, and food cost control.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance team performance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Jr. Sous Chef or similar role in a high-paced kitchen.
- MUST have your own reliable transport to and from work. IE: motorcar or motorbike DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DONT HAVE YOUR OWN RELIABLE TRANSPORT
- PREFERABLY LIVE IN THE SOUTHERN SUBURBS
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for culinary excellence.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and quality control.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Culinary qualification or relevant experience is advantageous.
