We are seeking a
qualified and SACPCMP-registered Quantity Surveyor
to join our client delivering large-scale
power transmission and distribution infrastructure projects
. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing
commercial, contractual, and cost management
support across all project phases — from tendering to close-out — ensuring compliance with both company standards and professional regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage
    Bills of Quantities (BoQ)
    , cost estimates, and tender documentation for transmission line and substation projects.
  • Monitor, control, and report on
    project costs, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
    .
  • Support contract administration in accordance with
    FIDIC, NEC, or JBCC
    forms of contract.
  • Conduct
    valuation of work done
    , progress claims, and prepare
    variation orders
    .
  • Manage
    procurement and subcontractor cost control
    , ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with
    engineering, project management, and finance teams
    to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Prepare
    cost-to-complete reports
    , risk registers, and final accounts.
  • Ensure full compliance with
    SACPCMP standards and professional ethics
    .

Qualifications & Experience

  • BSc / BTech / NDip in Quantity Surveying
    or equivalent.
  • Professional registration with SACPCMP
    as a
    Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS)
    or
    Candidate Quantity Surveyor
    (working towards registration).
  • Minimum
    5 years' experience
    in
    power transmission, substations, or heavy electrical infrastructure
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    contract law
    ,
    cost control systems
    , and
    construction project lifecycles
    .
  • Proficiency in
    MS Excel, CCS / Candy, Primavera, or SAP
    .
  • Excellent
    numerical, analytical, and communication skills
    .
