Psychologistsx1: East London Campus

Purpose of the Role

  • Provide holistic mental health and wellness services to UFH students, contributing to their academic success, retention, and overall wellbeing.
  • Supervise intern psychologists and support graduate development through training and mentorship.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in counselling or clinical psychology
  • 4–5 years' experience as a registered Counselling or Clinical Psychologist
  • 2+ years' experience in higher education (Student Affairs experience is an advantage)
  • Knowledge of HPCSA regulations and ethical guidelines
  • Strong communication, psychotherapeutic, and crisis management skills
  • Valid driver's license

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer individual and group counselling and psychotherapy
  • Conduct trauma debriefing and crisis interventions
  • Supervise intern psychologists and their community interventions
  • Deliver training for student cohorts (e.g., Wellness Leaders, Mentors)
  • Monitor and evaluate programmes; submit monthly reports
  • Implement mental health initiatives across multiple campuses
