- Teaching in the field of Education, Professional Practice, Life Skills and Academic Literacy in Foundation Phase/Diploma in Education and Grade R.
- Curriculum development and other learning materials.
- Supervising students on teaching practice.
- Research and involvement in research activities (publications and supervision).
- Academic administration, development, and administration.
- Assessment and quality assurance.
- Networking with schools and other networks.
- Community engagement.
- Coaching and mentoring of students and staff.
- Learner focus.
- Meticulous planning and organising skills.
- Perform other functions as may be assigned by the head of department.
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
- A Master`s degree relevant to the field of Education or Professional Practice or Life Skills in the Foundation Phase.
- A teaching qualification relevant to the teaching of a combination of Education, Professional Practice, Life Skills and Academic Literacy at tertiary level.
- At least two (2) years' relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level or five (5) years' relevant experience in Foundation Phase at school level.
- Specialized knowledge of methodologies of the relevant teaching subjects.
