The position is permanent Nightshift

Purpose

The purpose of this role is to oversee and optimise all aspects of Nightshift warehouse operations to ensure efficient and effective handling, storage, and distribution of goods on nightshift. This includes maximising productivity, minimising costs, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through effective leadership and strategic planning

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient nightshift operation of the warehouse, including Receiving/operations, dispatch and inventory management, order
  • fulfilment.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing warehouse team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and refine warehouse processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness while minimizing errors and waste.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and develop strategies to reduce excess inventory and stock outs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet customer expectations by ensuring on-time and accurate deliveries.
  • Control operational costs within budgetary constraints, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Supervise daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, dispatch and inventory control.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor and optimize workflows for efficiency.
  • Conduct regular safety training and inspections.
  • Identify and address operational bottlenecks
  • Recruit, train, and motivate warehouse staff.
  • Set performance expectations and provide regular feedback.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and cycle counting.
  • Implement inventory optimization strategies.
  • Manage stock rotation and perishable items.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Forecast demand and set reorder points.
  • Minimize overstock and understock situations

Minimum qualifications required:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a warehouse manager or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control,
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities and Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements in warehousing
