Product Category Manager required in Johannesburg.

A well-established and leading manufacturing group is seeking a Product Category Manager with a strong technical mindset and a passion for translating complex product concepts into clear, practical value for others.

The ideal candidate is not driven solely by sales figures but by the satisfaction of seeing a product category well-managed, purposeful and fully integrated into functional, real-world applications.

With prior experience as a Product Manager or Product Category Manager, this individual combines solid marketing insight with technical understanding and has the maturity, communication skills and professional presence.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12) essential.
  • A relevant degree or diploma (preferably in Marketing, Engineering, or a related field) will be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in a Product Manager or Product Category Manager role within a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • Technically minded, with the ability to understand and communicate complex product concepts clearly.
  • Strong marketing insight and understanding of product positioning within functional applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to engage confidently across teams and with clients.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a structured, results-oriented work approach.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must have a valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
  • Mature and professional demeanour — ideally 30 years of age or older.
