We're Looking for a Category Manager to Join Our Team

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for understanding markets, customers, and product performance? We're searching for a Category Manager who can take full ownership of a product portfolio and help us shape a winning commercial strategy.

In this role, you'll be responsible for steering the category's direction, strengthening our product offering, and ensuring that our range meets both customer expectations and business goals. You'll work alongside the Group Market Leader and collaborate with teams across the business to deliver strong results.

Responsibilities:

Shaping the Category Direction

  • Build forward-thinking category plans that respond to what customers want and what the market is telling us.
  • Spot gaps, trends, and opportunities that can elevate our offering.

Putting the Customer First

  • Stay close to customer behaviour and use feedback to guide improvements.
  • Ensure your category offers a smooth, exciting, and relevant shopping experience.

Managing Products & Supplier Relationships

  • Select the right products, determine pricing approaches, and guide products through their full lifecycle.
  • Engage with suppliers to secure great deals and ensure we deliver quality every time.

Monitoring Performance

  • Keep a close eye on sales, margins, stock movement, and overall category health.
  • Adjust plans quickly where needed to keep the category on track.

Partnering Across the Business

  • Work with Marketing, Supply Chain, and other teams to execute category initiatives.
  • Share insights and recommendations with leadership to support decision-making.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or similar.
  • 5+ years' experience in category, buying, product management, or related roles, preferably in retail or FMCG.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a solid understanding of category dynamics.
  • Confidence in working with data, trends, and forecasts.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others.
  • A proactive, curious mindset with strong strategic thinking.
  • Skilled in negotiation and building strong partnerships.
  • A self-driven, reliable team player who leads by example.
