Our growing student accommodation and asset management group is looking for an experienced and driven
Group Finance Manager
to lead our finance function. This role reports directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the full finance function across 5 entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. (

  • Manage cash flow, treasury, and consolidations while protecting landlord ROI through care and professionalism. (

  • Deliver accurate monthly management accounts and reports for landlords, investors, and stakeholders.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making at CEO and Board level.
  • Ensure compliance with SARS regulations (VAT, TAX, PAYE, UIF, EMP returns) and oversee annual audits.
  • Mentor and manage the finance team, fostering collaboration and shared accountability. (

  • Drive process automation, system improvements, and reporting innovations. (

  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (Postgraduate qualification or CA(SA) advantageous).
  • Minimum 3 years' finance experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of South African tax laws and compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple entities and consolidated reporting.
  • Proficiency in Xero (or similar cloud-based systems), MS Excel, and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience in property, asset management, or audit environments is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
