About the Role

We are seeking a
hands-on Network Manager
to oversee and optimise both the
ISP network
and the
corporate IT network
that supports diverse business operations. This is a leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, project planning skills, and the ability to manage a small, skilled team in a collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for
project delivery, ongoing maintenance, and strategic improvements
to ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and reliability. This role includes leading critical projects such as
network migrations
—ensuring detailed planning, minimal downtime, and smooth execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and support a small team of
    Network Engineers
    .
  • Lead
    project planning, execution, and delivery
    for network-related initiatives (e.g., migrations, upgrades, expansions).
  • Draft and maintain
    physical and logical network documentation
    (charts, diagrams, inventories).
  • Ensure high uptime, stability, and security of both
    ISP infrastructure
    and
    internal corporate networks
    .
  • Work closely with the broader
    IT team (small team, onsite)
    to align network operations with organisational goals.
  • Collaborate with business leaders on
    IT strategy and growth initiatives
    .
  • Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with service-level agreements.
  • Lead incident response and troubleshooting for critical network issues.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in
    network management
    (ISP and corporate environments advantageous).
  • Hands-on technical expertise with
    routing, switching, firewalls, and ISP-grade technologies
    .
  • Strong
    project management skills
    —able to draft, plan, and deliver large migration/upgrade projects with minimal disruption.
  • Experience creating and managing
    network documentation and diagrams
    .
  • Ability to balance
    technical execution
    with
    strategic business alignment
    .
  • Excellent
    people management and communication skills
    —able to lead and motivate teams.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant qualifications and certifications
  • Based in
    Cape Town
    and available for
    onsite work
    .
