You Bring:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law.
  • Certification in Compliance or Risk Management (advantageous).
  • Professional certification in relevant standards (e.g., SANS 1718:4).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a compliance or certification environment with proven team leadership.
  • Strong background in pre-certification testing, certification, and quality assurance.
  • Solid understanding of global gambling legislation, industry regulations, and national standards.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strategic problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
  • In-depth knowledge of gambling legislation and certification standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong grasp of SANS 1718:4 and related global certification requirements.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Certification Processes: Oversee end-to-end certification for gambling-related software and hardware, ensuring products meet global and legislative standards from testing to market delivery.
  • Develop and Mentor Teams: Manage and guide Certification Officers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee Documentation and Reporting: Review all test reports and documentation for compliance accuracy, ensuring clear and detailed submissions to regulators.
  • Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with Test Labs, third-party partners, and product clients. Resolve technical issues and ensure certification requirements are met efficiently.
  • Refine Certification Frameworks: Continuously review and improve compliance certification frameworks and monitoring plans to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure Legislative Compliance: Apply global and market-specific regulatory standards, ensuring certifications align with South African National Standards 1718:4 and other relevant frameworks.
  • Drive Innovation and Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements that boost efficiency, reduce costs, and accelerate market delivery.
  • Manage Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates to management on certification progress, addressing bottlenecks and ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Oversee Risk and Compliance: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to certification and compliance, escalating major concerns when necessary.
  • Lead Training and Knowledge Sharing: Develop and deliver training on new legislative and certification requirements, ensuring teams remain informed and compliant.
  • Make Strategic Certification Decisions: Ensure all product releases meet the highest standards of compliance, quality, and regulatory readiness.
