The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a skilled DevOps Architect to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you'll work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives. You'll be a key player in driving customer success through their cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle. Possessing a deep understanding of AWS products and services, as a DevOps Architect you will be proficient in architecting complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer. You'll work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose effective migration strategies to AWS. As trusted advisors to our customers, providing guidance on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions, you will be responsible for leading the implementation process, ensuring adherence to best practices, optimizing performance, and managing risks throughout the project.

Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage large projects or smaller engagements independently using your business and technical skills
  • Deliver best practices recommendations and highly technical implementations with cross-product integrations based on customer needs
  • Share best practices with customers of all sizes on the value proposition of , and conduct one-to-few and one-to-many workshop sessions to transfer knowledge to customers
  • Build deep relationships with our customers across the board and become a technical advisor solving complex challenges
  • Write or otherwise contribute to customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and blog posts
  • Work with the professional services leadership team to hire, develop, train, and promote the practice

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders (technical or non-technical)
  • Strong hands-on experience building CI/CD workflows and using scripting languages (one or more languages, e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, Go, PowerShell)
  • Excellent experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloudformation...)
  • Strong experience with automation tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with software deployment and orchestration technologies e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible in production environments
  • Hands-on experience with serverless technologies
  • Hands-on experience with continuous services like Code Deploy, Jenkins, Bamboo and Artifactory
  • Understanding of microservices and distributed architecture
  • AWS Developer and Engineer certified or similar certifications or equivalent practical experience
