Reconciliation Specialist/Analyst

Our client, a
leading global FinTech firm
, is rapidly expanding in
Cape Town
. We are looking for an ambitious
Reconciliation Analyst
to join our team during a high-stakes, rapid-growth phase following a major acquisition.

This role is for a
technical problem-solver
. While our transactional flow is highly automated, your expertise will be critical in handling the most complex financial exceptions. You will investigate failures and drive technical solutions to optimize efficiency.

Key Duties

  • Solve Global Complexity:
    Investigate and resolve highly technical variances across various payment channels and bank feeds, focusing on
    multi-currency
    flows and
    digital assets (crypto)
    .
  • Transaction Validation:
    Verify and validate financial input documentation from multiple data sources, ensuring audit-ready records of all transactions.
  • Drive Automation:
    Use advanced Excel skills and apply or learn
    SQL or Python
    to eliminate manual bottlenecks and permanently streamline reconciliation workflows.
  • Reporting & Collaboration:
    Assist in the preparation of reconciliation summaries and communicate issues clearly across the finance, operations, and technical teams.
  • Build Controls:
    Establish core financial controls and processes for the new South African entity.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years' experience in a financial operations/reconciliation environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of
    Advanced Microsoft Excel
    .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Advantageous:
    Familiarity with
    SQL or Python
    and multi-currency principles.
  • Own reliable transport for
    on-site work in Cape Town
    .

Salary:

R R35 000 per month (depending on experience)
