Location: Emalahleni, Mpumalanga (Hybrid: Remote & On-site as required)

Contract Type: Permanent / Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute internal audits in accordance with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (ISPPIA).
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
  • Identify operational, financial, and compliance risks; provide actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare high-quality audit reports and present findings to senior management.
  • Support fraud investigations and special reviews as needed.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and tools.

Requirements:

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), /IRBA – mandatory.
  • Minimum 5 years of internal auditing experience, preferably in engineering, infrastructure, or public sector environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Internal Auditing, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of PFMA, GRAP, and South African regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in audit software (e.g., TeamMate, ACL) and data analytics.
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • South African citizenship or valid work permit required.
