Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Innovation


• Develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with corporate goals


• Advise executive leadership on digital and distribution strategy


• Reposition the division as a preferred technology partner


• Champion growth and monetization of digital platforms

Digital Transformation


• Lead evolution of broadcasting platforms and AI-driven initiatives


• Oversee digitization of legacy content for commercial use


• Implement automation to enhance responsiveness and decision-making


• Drive satellite platform development and analogue switch-off mitigation

Operational Excellence


• Market technology services and facilities for external visibility


• Ensure service levels exceed KPIs and broadcast best practices


• Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning


• Monitor project delivery against scope, budget, and timelines

Financial Oversight


• Manage long-term capex and operational budgets


• Ensure financial discipline and asset management

Governance & Risk


• Align policies with digital imperatives and regulatory frameworks


• Resolve audit findings and optimize risk management practices


• Chair divisional risk committee

Stakeholder Engagement


• Build supplier relationships and manage SLAs


• Foster cross-functional collaboration and client responsiveness

Leadership & Talent Development


• Drive performance management, succession planning, and talent retention


• Mentor and coach key staff


• Ensure workforce planning and recognition models

Candidate Profile

Qualifications


• Postgraduate technology qualification (NQF 8) in Broadcasting, ICT, or related fields


• Additional business/leadership qualification (MBA preferred)

Experience


• 10+ years in broadcasting technology leadership


• 5+ years at Group Executive level


• Proven track record in media and technology innovation

Knowledge


• Deep understanding of broadcasting, digital, and mobile technologies


• Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks


• Insight into digital migration and content services policy landscape
