Key Duties & Responsibilities
Working Conditions
- Shift-based schedule including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
- Standing for extended periods may be required
Guest Services
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival in a warm and friendly manner.
- Manage guest check-in and check-out processes.
- Provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Respond to guest inquiries and resolve complaints or issues promptly.
- Maintain a high level of guest satisfaction at all times.
Reservations & Administration
- Handle reservations via phone, email, online platforms, and in person.
- Update guest records and ensure accurate data entry into the reservation system.
- Manage payments, invoices, and refunds in accordance with hotel policies.
- Maintain a tidy and presentable reception area.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure room readiness and guest requests are fulfilled.
Communication & Coordination
- Liaise with other hotel departments (Housekeeping, Maintenance, Restaurant, Management) to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate special guest requests, VIP arrivals, or issues to management.
- Assist with night audit or end-of-shift procedures when required.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Matric / High School Certificate required
- Previous hotel or customer service experience preferred
- Familiarity with hotel PMS / reservation systems (advantageous)
- Basic computer literacy (Email, MS Office)
