Key Responsibilities:

This hands-on role requires a blend of management, technical skill, and strong reconciliation abilities. You will be responsible for:

  • Full Financial Management: Overseeing the entire accounting process, including the preparation of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Taking immediate ownership of the general ledger. Your first priority will be to investigate, identify, and resolve outstanding variances and historical financial backlogs.
  • Process Improvement: Designing and implementing robust internal controls and efficient accounting procedures to prevent future errors and improve financial reporting accuracy.
  • Audit Liaison: Serving as the key contact for external auditors, preparing all required schedules and documentation for the annual audit.

Requirements:

  • Education: Ideally Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (e.g., BCom Accounting, BTech, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a full-cycle accounting role.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS for SMEs.
  • Expert-level proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas) and experience with a recognised accounting software package (e.g., Pastel Evolution, Xero, Sage).
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities. Must be self-driven, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills to report findings to non-financial stakeholders.
