The project:

This is an opportunity to work with a professional team in South Africa. 

This role is primarily responsible for civil works and smart utilities management projects. Where required, involvement in other building projects may be included.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Provides technical assurance and quality control support across civil and utility-related trades.
  • Leads dimensional verification and control for both main and trade contractor works.
  • Conducts Mace validation checks alongside trade contractor inspections.
  • Implements and supports Mace's temporary works and safety procedures.
  • Offers engineering leadership and guidance to site engineers.
  • Reviews design documents and resolves technical queries with designers and contractors.
  • Ensures compliance with inspection and test plans (ITPs) and maintains verification records.
  • Performs inspections to validate construction quality and progress.
  • Drives continuous improvement in processes and project delivery.
  • Manages team performance, development, and contributes to net zero carbon goals.

You'll need to have:

  • Demonstrates independent engineering judgment and initiative across diverse project types.
  • Experienced in civil infrastructure and smart utilities, particularly in the successful delivery phase of projects.
  • Possesses property and infrastructure project management expertise, with a strong track record.
  • Holds or is eligible for professional memberships such as ECSA, SACPCMP, PMP, or equivalent.
  • Open to career progression into project/package management roles through cross-functional development.
