Client responsibilities

Manage engagement economics and communicate significant issues, fees and estimates to complete to partners and clientsAssist partners with generating new business opportunities and building client networks and relationshipsUnderstand our service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clientsBuild strong internal relationships within Assurance and across other servicesExecution of complex audit engagements, managing risk and applying professional scepticismApplication of complex risk management policies and procedures on engagements with an understanding of global and local independence rulesMaximize operational efficiency with a focus on key performance drivers and improve operating practices by leading the implementation of all new audit solutions and enablersEnhance EY's brand positioning through strong external relationships across a network of existing and future clientsProvide strategic and relevant insight, connectedness and responsiveness to all clients that anticipates their needsMaximize business development opportunities through leveraging of networks across other service lines and geographiesParticipate as a reviewer in the Audit Quality Review processDefend the audit work in connection with internal or external inspections (regulator, AQR, peer review)

Qualifications and Experience

CA(SA)Thorough knowledge of current auditing techniquesExperience of the entire audit processFamiliarity with IFRS and local GAAPDetailed understanding of risk-based auditing and risk and control strategiesUnderstanding of Quality & Risk Management proceduresCompliance with regulatory requirementsBanking and financial services auditing experienceFinancial services auditing experience3 - 5 years post articles Audit experience

Technical skills requirements

Thorough knowledge of current auditing techniquesFive years to eight years of relevant work experience preferredExperience of the entire audit processUnderstanding of IFRS and local GAAPDetailed understanding of risk-based auditing and risk and control strategiesUnderstanding of Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) proceduresCompliance with and understanding of regulatory requirements

Additional skills requirements

Track record with a blue-chip audit firmProfessional accountancy qualificationStrong academic record including a degree
