ASARA Wine Estate & Hotel (Pty) Ltd in Stellenbosch, Western Cape is looking for a friendly, reliable and detail-orientated team player with excellent communication skills (Afrikaans & English) to join our Finance Team. The ideal candidate has the ability to multitask and work accurately under pressure, should be well presented & well spoken.

Job Title: Group Financial Manager

Department: Finance

Reports To: CEO

Purpose:

Lead and manage the financial operations and strategy of ASARA Wine Estate & Hotel (Pty) Ltd and its related entities. Ensure accurate, compliant, and insightful financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full finance function, including management accounts, budgets, cash flow, and consolidated reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic insights to improve profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and audit requirements.
  • Manage cash flow, treasury, and stakeholder relationships (banks, auditors, SARS).
  • Maintain and enhance financial systems (Pastel, Semper, Easy Wine, Excel).
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure operational excellence.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong analytical, strategic, and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Afrikaans & English).
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance (postgraduate/CA(SA) advantageous).
  • 8–10 years' financial management experience, including 3+ years in leadership.
  • Experience in hospitality, manufacturing, or FMCG preferred.
  • Proven record in group reporting, budgeting, and audit management.

  • Accuracy and timeliness of reports.
  • Compliance and audit outcomes.
  • Budget vs. actual control.
  • Cash flow and debtor performance.
  • Team and stakeholder satisfaction
