WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • As the custodian(s) of the Silvan Safari experience, you will be the visionary leader(s) who seamlessly blends unparalleled guest hosting with a meticulous approach to operational excellence. This role is about more than management; it's about creating a living sanctuary where luxury meets wild nature.
  • Champion our land conservation projects, sustainability initiatives, and community outreach programs, ensuring the enduring health of our pristine wilderness.
  • Guest Relations: Act as the primary host and point of contact for guests, personally greeting and engaging with them to ensure every need is met with warmth, efficiency, and a proactive approach.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage all lodge departments, including front of house, housekeeping, food & beverage, spa, maintenance and guiding.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and inspire all staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgets, inventory, and procurement to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Vehicle & Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and readiness of all vehicles and equipment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the lodge adheres to all local, national, and industry-specific regulations and standards, while overseeing comprehensive health and safety protocols and crisis management procedures.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven Experience: A combined minimum of 5 years management experience in a luxury safari or hospitality environment.
  • Leadership Skills: The ability to lead by example and inspire a team to deliver excellence.
  • Operational Knowledge: A deep understanding of lodge and safari operations, with a strong focus on safety and guest satisfaction.
  • Compliance Expertise: A solid grasp of relevant industry regulations and a meticulous approach to compliance.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with a calm and resourceful demeanor, yet versatile, resourceful, resilient and collaborative.
  • A genuine love for the bush and a commitment to wildlife conservation.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification(s).
