VACANCY: SALES MANAGER (INLAND)

LOCATION: Johannesburg

Our company is design oriented and manufactures standard and customised product solutions for the architectural, rail, commercial and retail industries. We are looking for a candidate to join our dynamic team leading Inland Sales Team (JHB office), reporting the Managing Director.

.Job Duties:


Operational management

·       
Setting Sales Goals
: Ensure alignment of the company goals into realistic and achievable sales targets for the team.

·       
Sales Strategy Development
: Create and execute effective sales strategies and plans to meet and exceed inland sales targets.

·       
Customer Relationship Management
: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

·       
Sales Reporting
: Prepare and present monthly sales reports suitable to the Managing Director as well as to Management team, highlighting achievements, challenges, and action plans.

·       
Market Analysis
: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform sales strategies and identify new business opportunities.

·       
Sales Process Optimization
: Continuously improve sales processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

·       
Collaboration with Marketing
: Work closely with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional activities, campaigns, and materials that support sales efforts.

·       
Negotiation and Closing Deals
: Assist the sales team in negotiating and closing high-value deals, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.

·       
Customer Feedback
: Gather and analyse customer feedback to identify opportunities for product or service improvements and to address any issues promptly.

·       
Lead Management
: Oversee the management of sales leads, ensuring timely follow-up and conversion into sales.

·       
Compliance and Ethics
: Ensure that all sales activities comply with legal regulations and ethical standards.

·       
Innovation and Adaptability
: Stay updated with the latest sales tools, technologies, and best practices, and implement them to improve sales performance.

·       
Cross-Functional Coordination
: Coordinate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless delivery of products and services.

Conflict Resolution
: Address and resolve any conflicts or issues within the sales team or with clients promptly and effectively


People Management:

·       
Team Management
: Train BDM's, ensuring they have the skills and tools needed to succeed.

·       
Performance Monitoring
: Quarterly performance reviews of the sales team, providing feedback, coaching, and corrective actions as needed via company KPI system.

·       
Sales Training and Development
: Conduct regular training sessions to keep the sales team updated on product knowledge, sales techniques, and market conditions.


Financial Management:

·       
Budget Management
: Manage and adhere to the sales department's budget. Monitor spending and ensure that all expenses are within the allocated budget.

·       
Sales Forecasting
: Prepare accurate sales forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and sales team input to aid financial planning and inventory management.

·       
Revenue Targets
: Set and achieve revenue targets that align with the company's overall financial goals. Ensure that the sales team is focused on high-margin products and services.

·       
Credit Management
: Work with the finance team to establish credit policies for customers. Ensure that the sales team adheres to these policies to minimize financial risk.

·       
Collaborate with Finance Team
: Work closely with the finance team to align sales strategies with financial objectives. This includes joint planning sessions and regular updates on financial performance.

·       
Cash Flow Management
: Monitor and manage the cash flow implications of sales activities. Ensure that sales operations do not negatively impact the company's liquidity. Attend weekly cash flow meetings.

·       
Inventory Management
: Coordinate with the finance and supply chain teams to manage inventory levels effectively, reducing holding costs and minimizing stockouts or overstock situations.

·       
Financial Compliance
: Ensure that all sales activities comply with financial regulations and company policies. This includes accurate record-keeping in NAV and adherence to financial reporting standards.

Qualifications, Competencies and Attributes

§ Grade 12 or equivalent SAQA approved qualification in Management

§ Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in a Senior Management role OR

§ Relevant tertiary qualification with 3 or more years relevant work experience

§ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programmes

§ Experience in Microsoft NAV would be advantageous
