**Job Purpose**

The purpose of the Compliance coordinator is to implement and uphold company policies and procedures that relates to best practice in terms of quality assurance, environmental management and health and safety in order to maintain corporate governance.

**Job Objectives and Functions**

**Governance**:

- Adopt and effect the implementation of compliance and governance policies, activities and programmes.
- Providing a strong central oversight to guarantee consistency and quality in governance processes.
- Develop and maintain appropriate governance records, through appropriate repositories. [Delegation of Authority, Policies, Codes, Compliance Programmes].
- Monitor, evaluate and challenge the organisation’s success in managing its risks.
**Compliance program**:

- Responsible for embedding compliance programmes across the business through training, coaching and mentoring or reporting on incidences that require corrective action
- Monitor and report on progress made by stakeholders in regard to the effectiveness of execution of Compliance programmes.
Provide support in instances where there is observed non-compliance to ensure sustainable remediation.
- Provide on-going support to all stakeholders and advise on the regulatory requirements and compliance programs.
- Maintain adequate compliance data, records, and manuals system.
- Provide on-going communication to all divisional stakeholders to support an appropriate compliance culture.
- Monitor and guide stakeholders in sustainable remediation and timely closure of all Compliance and audit findings.
- Implement a regulatory compliance training and awareness program with protocols for significant non-compliance matters.
**Reporting and monitoring**
- Identify opportunities for enhancement of policies, standards and controls for potential improvements in training and communication programs.
- Develop and disseminate appropriate compliance reports.
- Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
- Analyse risks to minimize losses or damages.
- Maintain regulatory or compliance documentation.
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly Compliance Reports
**Job Requirements**
The following qualifications, prior education, experience, skills, and competencies are considered necessary to support performance in this position. These learning’s is therefore assumed to be in place when the employee is considered for and appointed to the position.

**Qualifications**
- NQF 7- Degree in Accounting/Finance/Auditing or related qualifications
- Higher certificate - Certificate in compliance (ICA)
- Advanced Certificate / Diploma - Business Compliance (ICA)
**Knowledge**

- Corporate governance concepts and practices
- Business Law
**Experience**
- Compliance / risk management/ internal auditing 3-5 years
- Experience in the retail & wholesale industry 2-3 years
