**Technical Services Specialist, Animal Health and Nutrition business**

Lead technical support for Novonesis® Animal Health and Nutrition business in Africa. Working with the Account Manager for the region and interacting with both direct customers and distributors, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical support to Account Managers and Key accounts across South and East Africa. This position operates under general direction and is essential for promoting and driving sales of Novonesis poultry probiotic products and services. In this role, you will maintain high-level relationships with key customers and influencers, particularly nutritionists, and will be tasked with investigating customer complaints and resolving industry issues on-site. The position is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Provide technical support related to product performance at key accounts and channel partners.
- Work with regional Account Managers to grow existing business, nurture new opportunities, and actively participate in the sales processes.
- Supervise customer and distributor trials, visit research facilities, and deliver detailed analyses of trial results.
- Maintain high-level relationships with key customers and influencers, especially nutritionists and vets.
- Engage in professional trade associations and committees related to the poultry industry.
- Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape for gastrointestinal health products and services, and equip distributors through value messaging against competitors.
- Work with Account managers to create annual account plans for key customers and channel partners for their long-term growth and ensure direction in alignment with global marketing plans.
- Be able to represent Novonesis® on industry forums and be the voice of our solutions in trade shows and conferences, when needed.

**Job Requirements**
- Master’s or PhD in Animal Science, poultry nutrition, or related field.
- Strong understanding and experience in feed formulations involving probiotics and enzymes.
- Strong drive, responsible, goal-oriented, well-organized, and self-motivated, able to develop regions independently.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and demonstrated proficiency in MS Office software (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)
- Willingness to travel ~50% of the time, primarily in the assigned region when required.

**Core Competencies**
- Deep knowledge of the Animal Health and Meat industry in Southern Africa
- Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking with a strong affinity to value creation.
- Ability to network in the industry and be able to represent Novonesis in external forums.
- Good presentation skills to communicate both internally and externally.

**Other information**
- The role reports to the Regional Head of Novonesis® Animal Health and Nutrition Biosolutions.
- The role will be based in our Johannesburg office. We operate in a hybrid model and mandate to be in the office at least 3 days a week, when not traveling.
- Fluency in English is a must, and additional languages like Arabic and French are an added advantage.
