Position Description:
The IT **Procurement Buyer** provides functional expertise in evaluating purchasing requirements, structured and unstructured requirements from business or in response to new / updated supplier offerings, and then identify the best suppliers for the TFG’s needs, negotiate pricing and contracts with those suppliers that are able to deliver on the requirements, urgency / timing and in line with the relevant legislation, policies, procedures and required standards and practices, and in alignment with the TFG Governance Framework.

**Responsibilities**:

- General and Task Management, Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
- Negotiate total costs and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
- Work closely with others in the procurement function and business units to review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
- Conduct research for new components and suppliers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
- Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities Prepare reports and updates as and when required.
- Compile data relating to supplier performance.
- Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors.
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures and guidance during supplier negotiations.
- Review contracts/ work orders/ agreements and summarise key dates and terms
- Review & understand technical/ functional/ non-functional specifications sufficiently to be able to capture as part of procurement exercise as well as to supplement/ challenge as required

**Requirements**:

- Experience in IT Technical/ Development role and/or IT specific procurement
- BCom/BTech Logistics, Supply, CIPS Level 4 / Finance and/or relevant experience
- 2-3 years’ experience in a fast-paced procurement environment
- Must be able to deal comfortably and confidently with suppliers as well as internal customers.
- Must have proven computer literacy in SAP & MS Office Packages.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and cope under pressure.
