**ROLE**:Maintenance Artisan

**LOCATION**:East London, Eastern Cape

**REPORTING TO**: Production Manager

Our client, a large manufacturing company in the Eastern Cape is looking for an an energetic, highly motivated Maintenance Artisan to join their Production Team, based in East London. This role is an ideal fit for an energetic natural self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, who takes pride in maintaining a positive work ethic and excellent attention to detail. Experience in a manufacturing/FMCG environment is essential.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment using specialized tools including welders and/or hydraulic bolters
- Removal and fitment of equipment components
- Fault finding on pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems, repair or replace gears and v-belts
- Run maintenance programs
- Ensure that standards are maintained in accordance with the ISO quality system.
- Working on continuous improvement projects on the line in partnership with Production

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum of a Matric and N4: N6 and Trade Tested: Millwright or Fitter advantageous
- Minimum of 3 years’ Manufacturing Production experience in a continuous or FMCG environment
- 5+ years’ experience in fabrication of components - milling, lathe, drilling, surface grinding
- Welding (MIG, TIG, Arc)
- Experience in machine maintenance (pumps, gearboxes, v-belts, chains, pneumatics etc) and PLC’s
- CAD design advantageous
- Own transport essential
- Must live in East London or be willing to relocate
