- To assume ultimate accountability for Transport and develop and optimise the business practices required to ensure the effective and efficient control of the department. Reduce risk and ensure
- compliance to relevant policy and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for the site safety program and ensures that the environment supports the safety of
- all employees.Key performance areas:
- Ensure that Company procedures and work instructions are communicated, implemented and

adhered to at all times.- Utilize manpower effectively at all times.
- Ensure the security of people is maintained at all times.
- Monitor daily staff performance.
- Through regular meetings, be aware and act on all requests and needs of distribution staff

whereby ensuring a well-balanced employee relationship is maintained.- Order captured according to the correct cost code.
- Make prediction by the end of each and ensure all PO’s are captured and captured to the

correct cost codes and due dates.- Ensure the security of assets is maintained at all times.
- Ensure that vehicle tracking is conducted effectively.
- Monitor vehicle supplier performance to ensure correct standards and service levels are being

attained.- Carry out regular customer visits and check on vehicles in the trade.- Inspect all operations vehicles.
- Monitor all vehicles for tyre replacement.
- Achievement of Customer Service and satisfaction remains top priority to the operation and

its people, including daily contact with stores, sales agents and Principals regarding
- deliveries, re-deliveries, pick-up etc.- Conduct monthly sales meetings to communicate and solve problems with the trade.
- Ensure on time customer deliveries by efficiently routing all orders.
- Ensure that re-deliveries are carried out effectively.
- Ensure that the highest standard of housekeeping is maintained at all times.
- Ensure that agents are managed effectively to deliver an efficient delivery service meeting

clients SLA requirements.- Ensure that all outstanding orders are management as Follows:

- All routed
- Under the correct warehouse
- Correct required delivery date
- Comments updated
- Query duplicate orders
- All for delivery have been bayed and invoiced.- Ensure that all invoices are returned from delivery and checked for correctness.
- Ensure that all invoices handed over to debrief admin.
- No outstanding invoices in the trade for longer than 14 days.
- Control Food Safety and organise its work in the related department.
- Record and report non-conformances on related documentation and report to the food Safety

Team Leader.- Ensure relevant training and education of the shop floor staff and employees, and ensure their availability.
- Ensure that the Food Safety Management system is established, implemented, maintained and updated for their area of responsiblity and to include the HACCP process.
- Report to Food Safety Team Leader or Depot Manager on the effectiveness and suitability of the food safety management system, its requirements and possible failures.
- Liaise with external service providers on matters relating to the Food Safety Management

system.- Attend monthly meetings that address review elements and any changes to the HACCP study will be addressed by he HACCP team.
- Ensure the depot complies with relevant standards and regulations, e.g. SANS 10049; SANS 10330; R962; R638 GFSI, HACCP and BRC.**Inherent Requirements**
- Qualifications required:
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum 8 years working knowledge and experience in Transport and Logistics field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience at a manager level
- Knowledge of Good Wholesale/Distribution Practice
- Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993(OHSA)
- Strong financial acumen
- Transport Planning, organization skills
- Decision-making, problem-solving, creativity
- Analytical skills, attention to detail
- Good reading and writing skills in English
- Good communication skills
